What is NITV?

Australia's First National Indigenous Television Service

National Indigenous Television (NITV) is a new 24 hour television service established by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to improve the lives of our peoples. With the very best of Australian content in our programs, we will inform, entertain and educate, preserve our languages, tell our stories and showcase the rich diversity of our cultures and creative talent from all over Australia.

Coming Soon
  • A 9 part series dedicated to profiling some of our top contemporary Indigenous artists. From painting to sculpture, video installation and traditional weaving, Culture Warriors takes us on a journey to every corner of Australia to meet the wonderful Indigenous artistic talent in our country. Produced with the National Gallery of Australia and hosted by leading Indigenous curator Brenda Croft.

  • On the Up and Up is an inspirational story about life for young murri’s living in Queensland’s north west. When the teenagers are encouraged into performance lessons by enthusiastic art workers a surprising story of dreams and talents unfold, but not without its ‘drama’. Filmmaker Douglas Watkin's documentary gives an insightful look at what can be achieved with a little help from friends.
